Hydraulic cylinder with functional bolt

The hydraulic cylinder has a functional bolt (20) which acts to vent the cylinder chamber or to throttle a fluid flow. A mounting borehole (11) is threaded (12) along at least part of its length, into which the functional bolt locates. A securing device (30) for the bolt is provided which narrows the free cross-section of the bore behind the bolt such that a tool can be placed onto the bolt, and also to ensure that the path of the bolt coming out of the bore is limited.
