发明名称 émetteur de lumière destiné à pomper un laser
摘要 1,042,644. Discharge lamps. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC CORPORATION. April 1, 1964 [April 12, 1963], No. 13395/64. Heading H1D. [Also in Division H3] A flash-operated discharge lamp for pumping a laser is formed by a pair of coaxial cylinders surrounding the laser material, the discharge occurring in a gas filling contained in the annular space between the two cylinders, which space includes an expansion chamber at either end for absorbing the shock wave resulting from the discharge. Xenon, to which either mercury or a metal halide may be added, is sealed within the annular space 8, between the quartz cylinder 4 and the alumina cylinder 6, by metal electrodes 10 and 12, across which a capacitor is discharged, the resulting pulsed light emission serving to pump the laser material 2. The electrodes are shaped to provide expansion chambers 22 and are secured to the cylinder 4 by adhesive, and a material (unspecified) of selective emission may be incorporated in them instead of in the gas filling. Cylinder 6 may be strengthened by an epoxy bound glass material wound thereon.
