The arm rests (4) on each side of the seat (2) can be swivelled horizontally, and adjusted vertically up to shoulder height and support at least the top of the arms. Each pair of legs (6,7;8,9) is in the form of a single support bracket (10,11) on each side of the chair, with free ends standing on the floor. The chair has a single central vertical stand (12) for the seat. The end of the stand facing the floor has two connecting elements protruding axially symmetrically towards the stand into the apex of the support brackets. The two connecting elements assume a V shape. The support bracket is segmented into cross brackets.
