The method takes into account both a present and a previous filter coefficient calculated by the weighted averaging to optimally adjust filter coefficient variation, thereby to prevent a sudden change of the picture. The circuit comprises: a filter coefficient calculation circuit; a FIR filter and an IIR filter for compensating a distortion created in the transmission route; a FIR filter coefficient weighted averaging unit for weighted averaging the FIR filter coefficient and then applying the average value to the FIR filter; and an IIR filter coefficient weighted averaging unit for weighted averaging the IIR filter coefficient and then applying the average value to the IIR filter.
