A process for mfg. a transparent organic polymer device for the conversion of an optical frequency is claimed. The polymer material comprises active organic mols. having a microscopic non-linearity of the second order, and is submitted to the simultaneous action of a prim. rod laser of fundamental frequency w, and a sec. laser of the second harmonic 2w for a time sufficient to induce a macroscopic non-linearity of the second order in the structure.
