PURPOSE: To modify the subject material by immersing an organic polymer material in a prescribed state in a suspension of inorganic powder and irradiating the material with ultrasonic wave, having both properties of an organic polymer and those of an inorganic substance, useful as a material for a medical use. CONSTITUTION: An organic polymer material (preferably a molding composed of an organic polymer selected from the group consisting of a polymethyl methacrylate, a polylactic acid and a silicone) in a state swollen with a solvent (e.g. tetrahydrofuran or an ether) is immersed in a suspension of inorganic powder and irradiated with ultrasonic wave to modify the surface of the organic polymer material. The ultrasonic wave, for example, having 20-100kHz frequency and about 0.1-1W/cm<2> power, may be applied. |
