PURPOSE: To provide the fuel cell system having high reliability and long lifetime, which can maintain the safe operation even in the case where quantity of the steam generated in a steam separator exceeds the utilization quantity of the steam of a steam utilizing device. CONSTITUTION: A steam separator 3 for taking the steam out of the discharged cooling water is connected to a power generating unit 1. The steam separator 3 is provided with a temperature sensor 4, and a steam utilizing device 5 and a heat radiator 7 are connected to the steam separator 3. A water processing device 9 is connected to the heat radiator 7 and the steam utilizing device 5. A continuous control valve 6 is provided between the steam separator 3 and the steam utilizing device 5, and a continuous control valve 11 is provided between the heat radiator 7 and the water processing device 9. A control device 10 is connected to the temperature sensor 4, and the continuous control valve 6 and the continuous control valve 11 are connected to the control device 10. The control device 10 is set so as to perform the control for gradually opening the continuous control valve 11 in the condition that the continuous control valve 6 is opened in the case where the supply quantity of the steam exceeds the utilization quantity of the steam of the steam utilizing device 5. |
