CONSTITUTION: In the determination of a specific component in a sample by forming ammonium ion from the specific component in the sample and determining the ion,α-ketoglutaric acid, glutamate dehydrogenase, formic acid, formate dehydrogenase and NADH or NADPH (reduction type nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate) are preliminarily act to the sample to eliminate ammonium ion initially occurring in the sample. Then, the ammonium ion is liberated from the specific component in the sample in the presence of a formate dehydrogenase inhibitor and determined with extremely high precision.
