PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a decorative band arbitrary in shape and orientation by forming a preform by using a coextrusion apparatus wherein a first thermoplastic resin is supplied to the area opposite to the opening end of a coextrusion chamber and a second thermoplastic resin is supplied at the position between the opening end and side surface of the chamber in the direction having an angle with respect to the axis of the chamber. SOLUTION: Primary and secondary outlets S1, S2 are closed and a secondary chamber 23 is filled with a molten second thermoplastic material M2 while the primary outlet S1 is opened and a first chamber 12 and an annular space 13 are filled with a molten first thermoplastic material M1. At an extrusion stage starting the discharge of a preform P comprising the first thermoplastic material M1 from an annular orifice 43, the annular secondary outlet S2 is opened for a predetermined time and a secondary head T12 is rotated and/or advanced in parallel to a primary head T11 and the second thermoplastic material M2 pierces the annular space 13 to form a color band on the preform P. The preform P is transferred to a mold in a hot state to be subjected to blow molding while welding the bottom surface of the preform P.
