<p>1328055 2 - (Beta - cyanoethyl) - N - substituted acetaldimines STAMICARBON NV 8 Feb 1972 [18 Feb 1971] 5886/72 Heading C2C A 2 - (# - cyanoethyl) - N - substituted acetaldimine is prepared by reacting an N-substituted acetaldimine with acrylonitrile in the liquid phase at an elevated temperature in the presence of one or more alkali metal and/or alkaline earth metal oxides, hydroxides, or salts derived from an acid having a dissociation constant of less than 10<SP>-5</SP>. The reaction is preferably carried out in the presence of sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, barium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, potassium carbonate and/or barium carbonate. The alkali metal- and/or alkaline earth metal-compound is preferably used in an amount of from 0À01 to 10 millimoles per mole of the acetaldimine.</p> |
