<p>PURPOSE: To realize an intra-system information transmission system where the signal lines for transmitting various kinds of information to the plural packages within a system are reduced and the wiring is simplified. CONSTITUTION: An empty cell is detected from the signal in which the valid cell and the empty cell of an asynchronous transfer mode are contained by an empty cell detection circuit 21 and control information to be transmitted within a system is written in the payload of this empty cell by a multiplexing circuit. From the cells transmitted through a transmission line 16, an empty cell is detected in each package 13 to 15 and the control information contained in the cell is read. The control information written in the payload is deleted by the rewriting circuit 33 provided on the last package, the empty cell is returned to its original state and the cell is outputted to the outside of the system. By utilizing the empty cell, the control information can be transmitted within the system by utilizing the transmission line to which the cell is transmitted.</p> |
