PURPOSE: To provide an electric connector for a flexible circuit board at relatively low cost with high manufacturing efficiency, and an electric contact used in this electric connector. CONSTITUTION: An electric connector 10 for a flexible circuit board has an electric contact 30 housed in a cavity 21 of a housing 20. The electric contact 30 has a plate-shaped base part 33 including an elastic arm 32, and a contact piece 31 bent at a substantially right angle in the lateral direction in the vicinity of the tip of the elastic arm 32 and extending toward the rear. When the flexible circuit plate is inserted into the housing 20, a contact part 41 of the contact piece 31 is connected to a pad on the flexible circuit plate. High contact pressure is obtained by bending the elastic arm 32 and the contact piece 31. |
