PURPOSE: To provide an optical multiplexing circuit having a wide band width of 3dB by lowering the loss of optical passing at the stage of circuit design and suppressing the increase of the loss of optical passing due to the deviation of the wavelength of an incident light beam. CONSTITUTION: 2×1 optical multiplexers C11-C14 for multiplexing light beams having different wavelengths and being made incident from two optical transmitting paths on the incident side and transmitting it one exit side transmission path are provided in parallel, a 2×1 optical multiplexer C21 is connected on the exit ends of a pair of 2×1 optical multiplexers C11, C12, 2×1 optical multiplexers C11-C14, C21-C22 for multiplexing eight kinds of eight incident beams (light beams having wavelength λ1 -λ8 ) by combining every two beams are connected with two stages, 8×2 optical multiplexer is formed by connecting 2×2 optical branching type optical wave guide having almost no wavelength dependency on the eight kinds of wavelengths λ1 -λ8 and the 2×1 optical multiplexers C11-C14, C21-C22 are formed by a circuit in which an optical coupling characteristic is periodically changed within a range from 0 to 100% for the wavelengths λ1 -λ8 . |
