PURPOSE: To attain optimum gamma correction at all times without the use of a memory of a large capacity. CONSTITUTION: A printer control section 201 conducts prescribed arithmetic processing based on a toner deposition density sensed by an AIDC sensor 214 and a surface potential of a photoreceptor 6 sensed by a V sensor 207 and a luminance intensity of a light source 216 is corrected to generate gamma correction luminescent characteristics data to obtain an optimum image. A gamma correction section 219 uses the gamma correction luminescent characteristics data obtained through the arithmetic operation to obtain an image signal outputted from an image signal processing section 4 and the light source 216 is lighted based on the corrected data. |
