FIELD: deep water purification. SUBSTANCE: in conventional method difficultly oxidized organic substances are removed by two-step sorption and filtration through activated carbon layer observing the following daily loads on activated carbon: in the 1st step 4.0-4.5 mg of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and 0.8-1.0 mg of biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), in the 2nd step 1.8-2.0 and 0.4-0.5 mg, respectively. Activated carbon is maintained in suspended state by recycling waste water which is continuously saturated with air oxygen for microorganism-mediated oxidation. In order to increase stability of the process, purification of water is conducted on suspended activated carbon with daily loads 1.5-3 mg/g of COD and 0.5-1.5 mg/g of BOD maintaining dissolved oxygen concentration in water leaving suspended layer 1-2 mg/l.
