<p>PURPOSE: To suppress the large scale of memory capacity increasing corresponding to traffic volume to be processed. CONSTITUTION: In unit switches 11 to 14, 21 to 24, 31 to 34 and 41 to 44 composing an ATM switch, the signals stopping the transfers of cells are transferred to the original unit switches transferring the cells to their own unit switches when the cell storage volume of their own cell buffers 1 and 2 exceeds threshold. Therefore, because the cell storage volume of each unit switch 11 to 14, 21 to 24, 31 to 34 and 41 to 44 composing the ATM switch can be averaged, the large scale of memory capacity can be suppressed. Because a control can be performed only between a unit switch and the unit switch to be the origin for transferring the cell to this unit switch, collision control time can be shortened.</p> |
