PURPOSE: To provide the driving method for a DC type plasma display capable of individually impressing scanning pulses on plural scanning lines inn one write-in period. CONSTITUTION: A write-in period during impressing periods of maintaining pulses adjacent each other is divided into two sub-write-in periods and scanning pulses which are different from each other are respectively impressed on two cathodes in a first sub-write-in period and a second sub-write-in period being in one write-in period. Impressions of scanning pulses on two cathodes corresponds to starting times of adjacent sub-fields(sfs) although pulses are in the same write-in period. Here, in odd number-th sf, out of 8 sfs scanning pulses are impressed during first sub-write-in periods and in even number-th sf, scanning pulses are impressed during second sub-write-in periods. |
