PURPOSE: To suppress the degradation in the luminance at the ends of a light transmission plate and to improve the luminance uniformity of its display surface. CONSTITUTION: This device includes a light transmission body 13, an L-shaped fluorescent lamp 14 which makes the display surface 13a of this light transmission body 13 to emit light to a surface form by illuminating the light transmission body 13 from the lateral side of its end face and light source receiving parts 35, 36 which are projectingly provided with a pair of projecting parts 35a and 35b, 36a and 36b which hold the fluorescent lamp 14 in a diametral direction and are formed by shifting either of a pair of the projecting parts 35a and 35b, 36a and 36b in the axial direction of the fluorescent lamp 14 at the end face of the light transmission body 13. |
