PURPOSE: To obtain an image forming device capable of making an operator easily recognize such an abnormal condition as paper absence by flickeringly displaying a display item of a display means corresponding to the abnormal condition. CONSTITUTION: A control part 1 judges a tray in which the paper absence condition occurs based on the frequency of the depressing of a tray selecting key and a signal from a paper absence sensor 8, outputs an on/off signal to an LCD driver 6, and flickers a paper supplying step display part corresponding to a warning display part E. When the part 1 judges that the display of a message is required, character data previously stored in a ROM 5 are accessed, and the character data are outputted to the LCD driver 6 so as to be displayed. Thus, the sensor 8 detects abnormality to flickeringly display the display item of the part E corresponding to the abnormal condition. Consequently, the operator operating the image forming device can easily recognize what the abnormal condition is. |
