The trocar, consists of a main introduction tube (1) and a guide tube (7) attached to it. It has an elastic membrane (5) and a shutter in the guide tube, both of which open under the pressure of a tube fed through the guide tube and into the introduction tube, and close automatically when it is withdrawn. The membrane (5) forms part of a ring (4) fitting onto the end of the introduction tube. It is conical in shape, is slit to form two identical sealing lips, and is made from an elastomer material such as silicone. The shutter is in the form of a plate hinged at one end to the guide tube's inner surface.
