PURPOSE: To obtain the image forming device in which energy saving is promoted and power consumption in the energy saving mode is further reduced. CONSTITUTION: When no signal is sent from host devices 117, 118 for a prescribed time in the image forming mode, a CPU 101 selects the energy saving mode automatically. When the energy saving mode is selected, since it is not required to make operation of image forming by a controller 100, the need for the use of a large capacity DRAM 107 is not made and an SRAM 104 only is enough for the operation. Then the use of the DRAM 106 is stopped and refreshing by a DRAM conversion section 105 is stopped. Thus, the current consumption is much more reduced than that in a conventional energy saving mode. |
