摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To reduce a volume occupied by a projected part of a furnace vessel, raise the surface level of a molten material and facilitate the formation of a deep bath furnace and minimize the remnants of unmolten scraps produced by a large-sized projected area of the furnace and reduce the differential temperature between the melts. CONSTITUTION: A furnace main body of an electric furnace is formed with a furnace wall having no intermediate bulkhead on the upper part of a projected part 6 in such a fashion that both sided bottoms 18 and 19 inside the projected part 6 of the furnace vessel may be projected in parallel from inside the main body of the furnace vessel 1 in the width ransing from (0.1 to 0.3)d of the inside diameter (d) of the main body of the furnace main body 1. A slanting area is installed in the range of 2 deg. to 20 deg. between the inside bottom 14 of the main body of the furnace vessel and the inside bottom 15 of the projected area 6 of the furnace main body.</p>
