PURPOSE: To manufacture a fuel cell having high phosphoric acid holding power by making the mixing and stirring powder, of unelectronic conductive material and fibrillated polytetrafluoroethylene, into a wet condition by an additive to be rolledly formed. CONSTITUTION: Unelectronic conductive powder, e.g. SiC having a mean particle diameter of about 0.3μm of 100g degree, and a fibrillated polytetrafluoroethylene powder of about 3g are mixed. This mixture is mixedly stirred by using a high speed stirring type mixer to be made into a wet condition by using the additive such as isopropyl alcohol, and is compressedly formed to be moreover rolledly formed into a coat state by using a roll, then is dried. Consequently, a matrix for a phosphoric acid type fuel cell can be obtained, which is capable of having proper formability and high wettability, and maintaining sufficient quantity of phosphoric acid, by the small quantity of polytetrafluoroethylene resin quantity without heat-treating. |
