METHOD AND FACILITY FOR THE OXIDATION PROCESSING OF EFFLUENTS IN THE PRESENCE OF A HETEROGENEOUS CATALYST

A method for the aqueous-phase oxidation of effluents, wherein said effluents are oxidised in the presence of at least one oxidising agent in a reactor in which a gas phase is provided above the liquid phase consisting of the effluents, and said gas phase is catalysed in the presence of at least one heterogeneous catalyst, said method being carried out at a temperature of around 20-350 DEG C and at a total pressure of around 1-160 bars, in order to mineralise at least part of the organic material and the total and ammonia nitrogen in said effluents. The method is characterised in that it includes a step of recycling at least part of the gas phase that is present in said oxidation reactor after passing over the heterogeneous catalyst, so that its contact time with said effluents is sufficient to achieve a substantial removal of NH3, COD and volatile organic compounds.
