Cushion element having a single piece middle layer (1) extending over the entire length and breadth of the cushion. Projections (2) with conical free ends extend above and below the middle layer. In between the projections penetrating airpassages (3) run through the middle layer. Blind channels (4) are formed in the projections and reach as far as the middle layer.
