<p>The invention relates to a process and a device for composting organic waste. In a rotatable drum composter 15, the reciprocal relationships between the ventilation, the rate of progress of the mixture and the mixing efficiency are regulated such that the mixture is kept free from unbound water and at a temperature of 60 degree C. Since the temperature of the mixture increases, the mixing efficiency can be increased. Since the composting process is rendered more effective, the rate of progress of the mixture can be increased in relation to the mixing efficiency. An optimal value, at which the mean generation time for a given microbial population is minimised, is sought for the reciprocal relationship between the said parameters on the basis of temperature measurement. For this, it is necessary to regulate the rate of progress of the mixture where the feed angle of the conveyor blades can be regulated or is different in opposite directions of rotation.</p> |
