PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an undesired effect of a resolution to printing and improve a printing quality by addressing a pixel position by a first pixel density and a different second pixel density, and concurrently controlling printing steps with a first and a second swath heights to apply ink to a medium. SOLUTION: A first printing means 22 has a first swath height, and a second printing means 28 for printing an image swath to a medium concurrently has a second swath height larger than the first swath height. A common supporting means 20 supports both the first printing means 22 and the second printing means 28. The first printing means 22 is controlled to apply ink to the medium by addressing a pixel position by a first pixel density, and the second printing means 28 is controlled concurrently to apply ink to the medium by addressing the pixel position by a second pixel density different from the first pixel density.
