PURPOSE: To shift raw material paper particles in a desired direction by an amount equivalent to voids to obtain a cushioning effect by a method wherein the raw material paper particles filled in an outer layer of an article to be molded are sprayed with aqueous solution to dissolve adhesives impregnated in the raw material paper particles and make the raw material paper particles adhere to each other and conglomerate into a form. CONSTITUTION: A package cushioning material A is produced in the following way. Raw material paper such as raw material for paper making, recycled old paper, etc. is fed into a shredder to shred it and then supplied to a raw material impregnating machine to impregnate the raw material paper with aqueous adhesives. The shredded raw material paper is fed into a raw material extruder to extrusion-mold the raw material paper as it is kneaded and transferred. Then, the raw material paper is supplied to a raw material cutter to cut it into pellets and the raw material paper pellets are sent to a press-molding machine to press-mold them into particles. The raw material paper particles Pe are press-formed by a press-molding machine and vapor of aqueous solution supplied from a sprayer is sprayed over the whole external layer of an article Aa to be molded to make the raw material paper particles Pe adhere to each other and conglomerate. |
