<p>PURPOSE: To prevent generation of poor feed of paper by restraining change of the paper feed pressure of sheet material, even if the sort of sheet material is different or the quantity of sheet material loaded in a cassette is changed. CONSTITUTION: This paper feed device is provided with an intermediate plate 2 (sheet material holding means) capable of pilingly loading a plurality of sheet materials S1, a swing shaft 2a (support member) and a supporting member 7 (support member) supporting the intermediate plate 2 capably of being swung, and a spring 3 (energization member) bringing the sheet material in contact with a separation claw 6 (sheet, material separating means) by energizing one end of the intermediate plate 2 while setting the swing shaft 2a and the position where the sheet material holding means is supported with the supporting member 7 as fulcrums so as to give paper feed pressure to it, and the supporting position of the supporting member supporting the intermediate plate 2 is changed according to the loading quantity of the sheet material S1.</p> |
