PURPOSE: To provide an antibacterial liquid composed of an extraction waste water, etc., obtained as a by-product of an extraction process of cypress oil comprising the steam distillation of waste wood of cypress grown in Aomori Prefecture, Japan, free from toxicity, stimulation and particular smell and color, having excellent safety and useful for the sterilization, etc., of various environmental objects. CONSTITUTION: This antibacterial liquid is a solution produced by adding preferably 0.005-0.01(W/V)% (based on the total solution) of an antioxidant such as sodium sulfite and/or preferably 0.0004-0.0005(W/V)% of a heavy metal fixing agent such as sodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate to waste water obtained as a by-product of an extraction process of cypress oil comprising the steam distillation of waste wood of cypress grown in Aomori Prefecture, Japan and/or an aqueous solution of a component transferable from cypress oil to an acidic or alkaline water or a mixture of the above solution and preferably 1-50V/V% of a hydrophilic solvent such as methanol and/or preferably 1-10V/V% of a surfactant such as polyoxyethylene lauryl ether. |
