PURPOSE: To execute tunnel widening excavation operations without entailing any hindrance to the operation of a train passing through on a main track rail, because of making a tunnel widening excavation machine on the main track rail shuntable to a siding quickly. CONSTITUTION: A tunnel excavator 1 is traveled on a main track rail up to a boring section in a tunnel, extending an outrigger 14 as long as specified in the boring section, and this tunnel excavator 1 is uplifted to some extent and locked tight. Next, after any side slippage is prevented by a side gripper, a job for widening boring on a tunnel inner wall is carried out as turning a rotating drum 3 by means of a boom 2. In addition, when the tunnel excavator 1 is shunted to a siding, first of all, this tunnel excavator 1 is shifted to a section corresponding to this siding at the outside of the tunnel by main track rail traveling wheels 8, extending the outrigger 14, and the excavator 1 is uplifted to some extent, floating the main track rail traveling wheels 8 upward as far as specified. Next, on the main track rail, an insulating plate equipped with a shunting rail is laid down on a siding extension line, and then the outrigger 14 is contracted to some extent, placing traversing wheels 11 of the excavator 1 on the siding rail, and thus this machine 1 is shunted to the siding. |
