The parasol comprises a support frame (4) for the canvas (2) connected to the support pole. The frame comprises an assembly of ribs (5) pivoted on a central connecting head (6) and an assembly of opposing ribs (7) pivoted on an opening control piece (8) which moves axially to pass through the head and the ribs. One of the opposing ribs (71) extends outwards from the frame and its exterior end is connected to the pole by a first pivot (72) transverse to the pole longitudinal direction. The rib (51) on which is pivoted the opposing rib also extends outwards from the frame , the outer end of the rib being connected to the pole by a second pivot (52). The two pivots can move relative to each other in the longitudinal direction so as to cause distancing of the frame axis relative to the post and simultaneously opening the parasol.
