Moulded, rose-tinted (32) front-glass (30) has moulded into its front face regularly spaced flush-fitting, horizontal or vertical, translucent red bars (34). Opt., the inserts form a chequerboard pattern. The visible area thus presets alternating rose (Z1) and red (Z2) zones. The rear face presents a corresponding pattern of lenses (36) and prisms (38), red inserts all being shields by prisms which reflect most of the incident light (10,20). This beam passes mainly through the other zones (Z1), aided by concentrating lenses. A Fresnel lens (50) deflects unreflected light. Aided, opt., by a corrective screen (40), the lit lamp appears nearly white, functioning as a reversing light, but appears red when unlit. Opt., with an amber-tinted screen (40), it acts as a direction indicator.
