PURPOSE: To provide a treating method for preventing a malodor (sulfide) from occurring in treatment of waste water wherein an organic sulfur compound of a sulfoxides as a pollutant is contained. CONSTITUTION: In a treatment of organic waste water containing sulfoxide organic sulfur compound, chemical oxidation treatment is preliminarily carried out to form sulfones. Thereafter, decomposition is carried out under an aerobic condition in a biochemical treating method, and malodor of mercaptans or the like is prevented. Thereby when a sulfones formed chemically by oxidation treatment is biochemically treated, sulfinic acids (R-SO2 H), sulfonic acids (R-SO3 H) are formed as an intermediate product, and sulfuric acid is finally formed. Therefore, products having a malodor such as sulfides, mercaptans to be formed in biochemical treatment of the sulfoxides or hydrogen sulfide, etc., are not formed, thereby the adequate treatment is carried out. |
