PURPOSE: To secure the safe of running of a vehicle without disturbing the entire flow of traffic by providing the ground transmission means which indicates running conditions, which are discriminated based on position information of vehicles obtained through a ground reception means or the traffic state of the road obtained through a monitor means and are suitable for individual vehicles, to individual vehicles. CONSTITUTION: A road side beacon device 5 which sends position information by radio or light is arranged everywhere on the side of the road, and an ITV camera 6 to pick up the image of the road is arranged so as to look down the road. The position, the speed, acceleration information, destination information, and the discrimination number of a vehicle are transmitted from a device on the vehicle by radio. When receiving these information through a leakage coaxial cable 2 laid along the superhighway, a ground processing part 4 refers to traffic snarl information, inter-vehicle distance information, and weather information obtained trough the ITV camera 6 to calculate the proper speeds of vehicles, the proper inter-vehicle distance, traffic lane positions, etc., and transmits them to individual vehicles together with discrimination numbers of vehicles through the coaxial cable 2. |
