Hollow cellulose fibre with sandwich structure wall - contg. microporous and macroporous layers, for ultrafiltration, haemofiltration and dialysis

Hollow cellulose fibres obtd. from cellulose xanthate by coagulation and decomposition have a wall with a sandwich structure of >=3 layers; >=2 microporous reticular layers enclose >=1 macroporous layer. The cavities in hte microporous layers have dia. 10-4-10-1 mu m the radial capillaries in the macroporous layer are >=50 lines larger than the cavities in he microporous layers. The fibres are used for ultrafiltration, haemofiltration and dialysis. The fibres have high water permeability. The fibres have high water permeability. The retention for molecules of a particular mol. wt. can be varied by adjusting the conditions of prepn. of the fibres.
