PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evade the cost effect of deterioration of a signal caused by truncation due to an offset error by compensating an offset error generated in data as a result of truncation by adding a compensation value to the processed data. SOLUTION: The DC offset error from a filter 20 is compensated by adding the compensation value to the processed data. This compensation value can be applied to any place in the signal processing path of the filter 20. Therefore, the DC offset compensation value is applied to the adding element 24 closest to the input in the filter 20 and the offset error can be compensated. The compensation value applied in the filter 20 can be predetermined according to the number and type of truncation caused in the filter 20 and the compensation value which is compatible with the contents of the filter 20 determined by a filter control network 50 is supplied from a memory 40 where it is stored.
