PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal transfer recording medium which enables production of a transfer image with good scratch resistance and heat resistance by forming a heat melting peeling layer on a support and making a coloring layer on the peeling layer contain a coloring agent, heat melting wax, a thermoplastic resin, and melamine resin and/or acrylate resin powder. CONSTITUTION: A peeling layer 2 and a coloring layer 1 are laminated in sequence on one side of a support 3, and a protective layer is laminated on the other side of the support 3. The coloring layer 1 is prepared from a material containg 3-65wt.% of coloring agent, heat melting wax, a thermoplastic resin, and melamine resin and/or acrylate resin powder, and the resin powder of 0.3-5.0μm particle size is used. The peeling layer 2 contains wax such as carnauba wax and polyethylene wax and a thermoplastic resin such as polyamide, acrylate resin as main components; the protective layer 4 is prepared from a resin with good heat resistance such as a silicone resin and a fluororesin. |
