<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce control cost by holding an instantaneous count value and indicating the excess of a transmission bit rate set up in each virtual connection when the sum of an instantaneous count value and the whole count value is smaller than a minimum count value. SOLUTION: The sum W of an instantaneous count value Y in each connection and the whole count value K of the whole counter device GZ is formed and a minimum count value Wmin is subtracted from the sum W. At the time of obtaining a compared result wherein the sum W is larger than or equal to the state Wmin , a count value (d) is subtracted from the state Y. Then a write cycle is executed in a bit rate memory BSP under the control of a controller ST. At the time, the subtracted instantaneous count value is stored in an addressed storage area by a decoder DEC through a multiplexer M. When the sum W is smaller than the state Wmin , the state Y is not changed, an information signal is supplied to the device ST and the excess of the set transmission bit rate is indicated by the information signal.</p> |
