PURPOSE: To heat temporarily intake air for a thermal engine or the like with a heat generating member utilizing reaction material or to provide an important structure when this heat generating member is utilized in a panel heater, a hot plate and a heat insulating pan or the like. CONSTITUTION: Major configuration of a thermal engine is comprised of a easing 115, a cylinder 102, a piston 101, a root blower 108, an intake port 109, a discharging port 107, an injection valve 105, a discharging valve 106, an injection pump 104, a crank shaft 110, a connecting rod 111 and a combustion chamber 103. In the case that surrounding air temperature is low when starting the engine, no ignition is performed within the combustion chamber 103. In view of this fact, a bag 1 storing reaction material 2 (for example, iron oxide) is arranged around the intake port 109, reacted material (for example, air) is fed to the reaction material 2 to generate heat, thereby the intake port 109 is heated so as to pre-heat air entering the intake port. In this way, ignition for the engine becomes easy. Heating of intake air for a thermal engine can be easily performed with an easy-type heat generating member without applying any electrical energy, and a cordless heating machine can be made with a structure which is suitable for a panel-type heating machine, resulting in that a practical convenient device can be obtained. |
