PROCESS FOR DETECTION OF WRITE COLLISION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a collision between writing operations to a data base. SOLUTION: Writing operations to a weak-consistency copied data base system have inquiries for internal subordinate states peculiar to applications and related descriptions on results which are expected to be returned when each subordinate state inquiry is run against the data base. The subordinate state inquiry is an arbitrary inquiry, is supplied from an application, and meets the requirement of the application. Such writing operation that comes into collision with the current state of the arbitrary given instance of the data base is detected by comparing the results which are returned when the subordinate state inquiry to writing is run against the given instance of the data base with the results which are expected to be returned.
