PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal recording body having an excellent recording sensitivity, a preservative property of a recorded image, and reduced fogging by incorporating a calcium complex of a compound expressed by a specified formula as a preservation agent into a recording layer containing leuco dye and a colorant. CONSTITUTION: In a thermal recording body in which a recording layer containing leuco dye and a colorant is mounted on a support, a calcium complex of a compound expressed by formula I or II in an amount of 3-50wt.% of the total solid of the colorant is incorporated into the recording layer. In the formulas, R1 , R2 are a phenyl group unsubstituted or substituted with at least one substituent selected from lower alkyl group, lower alkoxyl group, and halogen atoms, A represents methylene group, ethylene group, propylene group, phenylene group, or diphenyl methane group. The calcium complex is activated by the colorant in a molten state to improve the preservative property of the recorded image against a plasticizer, oil, etc. |
