<p>PURPOSE: To adjust the optical axis of a headlight with high accuracy by an inexpensive device. CONSTITUTION: An optical axis automatic adjusting device is provided with a detecting sensor 11 for detecting the attitude of an own vehicle by the road surface luminance pattern change of the road surface irradiated by the headlight 19 of the own vehicle. Upon receiving a signal from the detecting sensor 11, a control circuit obtains the value for controlling the optical axis angle of the headlight 19 and changes the irradiating direction of the lamp of the headlight. Because of detecting a road surface luminance pattern in a high luminance area near the own vehicle, detection can be performed with high accuracy, and the irradiating direction of the headlight can be adjusted accurately at low cost.</p> |
