PURPOSE: To produce a ferritic stainless steel sheet free from dispersion of shade among panels even if many panels are arranged and having superior stability of color tone and also excellent in corrosion resistance and antidazzling characteristic. CONSTITUTION: This ferritic stainless steel has a composition containing, by weight, 16-35% Cr and <=6wt.% Mo, and the area occupancy of fine compounds comprising the as-pickled surface is regulated to <=20%. In a dull finished state, ruggedness having >=1μm difference of height is distributed by >=3 pieces/mm for unit length. This stainless steel can be produced by subjecting the steel to electrolytic pickling in an aqueous solution of nitric acid at >=1A/dm<2> current density and then to pickling by means of a mixed acid of nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid. The area occupancy of the compounds can be measured by using a lightness index by a color-difference meter as an index.
