PURPOSE: To prevent transfer deviation and transfer-image distortion. CONSTITUTION: The color image forming device, which rotates and drives an intermediate transfer body 19 and an image carrier with the same drive motor 27, is provided with a mark 33 formed on the image carrier 1 or intermediate transfer body 27, a mark detection means 34 for emitting light to the mark 33 to detect light reflected from it, and a speed detection means 34 for detecting the speed of the movement of the image carrier 1 or intermediate transfer body 27 based on the result of the mark detection with the means 34. The mark detection means 34 has a control means which controls emitting light so that the average of the amounts of reflected light is kept constant. |
