PURPOSE: To turn off the power source of a magnetic disk device having a write cache even at the time of executing the write cache. CONSTITUTION: This magnetic disk device with write cache (HDD) is provided with an operation monitoring part 3 controlling the data of a cache and monitoring the processing of a cache 5 and a magnetic disk medium 9 and a backup function part 6 holding the data of the cache 5 and the data of the operation monitoring part 3 when the power source of the HDD is turned off. The operation monitoring part 3 monitors the address of the data written in the cache 5. As a result, the power source of the HDD can be turned off at any time and data can normally be written in the HDD even at the time of a sudden power failure. |
