CELL SWITCH, SWITCH NETWORK USING THE SWITCH AND ATM EXCHANGE NETWORK

PURPOSE: To set the arbitration of the address collision of cells in a batcher banyan network or the like to be efficient with simple constitution and to allow exchanging the cell of high performance with high throughput. CONSTITUTION: The cell switch of two input/two output deciding the output destination of a cell in response to the size relation of the destination bit string of the inputted cells is provided with a preferential cell selection means (address arithmetic circuit 33) selecting one side input cell is a preferential cell based on a priority bit which is previously given to the respective input cells which address-collide with each other at the time of occurrence of address collision of the inputted cells and preferential port output means (control register 35 and multiplexers 36a and 36b) outputting the preferential cell to a preferential port 30-side.
