THIN TYPE NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE BATTERY AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PURPOSE: To provide a thin type nonaqueous electrolyte battery which is excellent in a high load characteristic, has little capacity dispersion, and has a stable charge and discharge capacity. CONSTITUTION: When a sheet-like positive electrode 11 and a sheet-like negative electrode 12 are wound as interposing a separator 13 between the same using a core which is formed by combining bars of three or more in parallel, the same are wound spirally so that the ratio value of core lengths in a minor axis direction and in a major axis direction to be 0.05 or more. After a group of the electrode plates is detached from the core, the same is compressed in the minor axis direction into an elliptic shape in a cross section shape so as to constitute the electrode plate group.
