PURPOSE: To update a data file based on the updating data so as to keep the entire file in its optimum state by adding not only the record corresponding to the updating data but the updating record or the lacking record to other records at need. CONSTITUTION: When the key value (n) of the updating data is small against the maximum value (m) among the key items included in records constructing a sales file 4, a file updating controller 3 retrieves the record that has the key item corresponding to the key value (n). The controller 3 updates the value of updating items included in the retrieved record and also totals the value of total items. Then the controller 3 calculates again the value of total items included in every record where the key item value is corresponding to (n+1) to (m). |
