PURPOSE: To enable power saving driving by eliminating or reducing power consumption of damping capacity elements for piezoelectric vibrator when the piezoelectric vibrator is to be driven. CONSTITUTION: A piezoelectric vibrator 1 is vibrated/driven at a constant voltage by an AC driving power supply 5. An electrostatic capacity Cs equivalent to the damping capacity Cd of the vibrator 1 and a phase converting means 6 for changing by 180 deg. the phase of a current flowing in the capacity Cs are connected in parallel with the vibrator 1. Thus, the current flowing in the capacity Cd can be equivalently eliminated or reduced, resulting in reduction of current consumption. In addition, since no coil is given thereto, the effect of eliminating current by the capacity Cs hardly depends on frequency. Therefore, even when the frequency of driving power from the power supply 5 deviates from the resonant frequency of the piezoelectric vibrator, a similar power saving effect can be exhibited. |
